Norfolk - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders for Road Closures and Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025 (NORWICH)
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
CARROW ROAD – from 25m northeast of its junction with King Street for 70m north eastwards to facilitate bridge repair works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 14th to 16th August 2025 (may continue until 27th September 2025). Alternative route is via: King Street, Bracondale, Queens Road, Chapel Field Road, Grapes Hill, Barn Road, St Crispins Road, Barrack Street, Ketts Hill, Bishop Bridge Road, Riverside Road, Riverside, Koblenz Avenue, Carrow Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: Please note that these dates will only go ahead if the previously advertised dates of 7th to 8th August 2025 for this closure do not go ahead.
GEORGE BORROW ROAD – from its junction with Hodgson Road for 70m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water repairs of a defective reinstatement between 07:00 on 11th to 17:00 on 12th August 2025 (may continue until 23rd September 2025). Alternative route is via: George Borrow Road, The Avenues, Colman Road, Earlham Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
HARMER ROAD – from its junction with Mile Cross Lane for 20m southwards to facilitate UK Power Network installation of an electrical link box from 11th to 15th August 2025 (may continue until 26th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Harmer Road, Woodcock Road, Catton Grove Road, A1042 Mile Cross Lane. The works promoter is UK Power Network.
IPSWICH ROAD – from 3m south of its junction with Lakenham Road for 1330m southwards to facilitate surface works from 9th to 22nd August 2025 (may continue until 2nd October 2025). Alternative route is via: Hall Road, Lakenham Road and vice versa, Lakenham Road, Hall Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: These works will be carried out in 2 phases. Phase 1 will be between 19:00 and 05:00 from 9th to 13th August. Phase 2 will be between 19:00 and 05:00 from 19th to 21st August.
MOUSEHOLD AVENUE – from its junction with Gurney Road to its junction with Lavengro Road to facilitate works to install a speed cushion between 07:30 and 16:00 on 11th August 2025 (may continue until 22nd September 2025). Alternative route is via:
Eastbound – Mousehold Avenue, Silver Road, Barrack Street, Gurney Road.
Westbound – Gurney Road, Barrack Street, Barrack Street/St Crispins Road Roundabout, Barrack Street, Silver Road, and Mousehold Avenue. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
CECIL ROAD – from 47m southeast of its junction with Trafford Road for 30m south-eastwards to facilitate new electrical connection works from 6th to 20th August 2025 (may continue until 1st October 2025). Alternative route is via: Brian Avenue, Trafford Road, Cecil Road and vice versa. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
COTMAN ROAD AND THORPE ROAD –

Cotman Road from its junction with Thorpe Road for 30m northwards and;
-
Thorpe Road from 15m west of its junction with Cotman Road for 15m eastwards to facilitate electrical apparatus installation works.
Road 1) will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and Road 2) will be temporarily subject to the suspension of the bus lane between 08:00 on 4th August and 18:00 on 8th August 2025 (may continue until 19th September 2025).
Alternative route is via: Thorpe Road, Telegraph Lane East and Cotman Road.
The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
EBBISHAM DRIVE – from its junction with Greenways to its junction with Cheyham Mount to facilitate subsidence investigation works from 08:00 on 4th August to 18:00 on 7th August 2025 (may continue until 18th September 2025).
Alternative route is via: Amberley Drive, Cheyham Mount, Greenways and vice versa.
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
N.B The restriction will take place in 24-hour period between the above dates and times
Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
