Newtown Lane and Church Lane - Temporary Road Closure For Underground Gully Works

Temporary Closure of Newtown Lane and Church Lane
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Newtown Lane - from the junction with Gifford Drive to the junction with Church Lane and Church Lane - from the junction with Newtown Lane, northwards for a distance of 13 metres. A total distance of 110 metres.
This Order will enable Openreach to carry out underground gully works.
The Order becomes effective on 21st August 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 27th August 2025 and last until 27th August 2025 between the hours of 09:30 - 15:30 for a total of 6 hours.
