Silverknowes Road Area - Temporary Road Restriction & Traffic Regulation

(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION)
ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/95

The Council has made an order under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period to facilitate planned alterations to the Travelling Safely installation, no person shall: (a) except with the permission of a police constable in uniform, cause or permit any motor vehicle to enter into, remain, proceed in or on any part of any length of road specified in Schedule 1; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on any part of any lengths of road specified in Schedule 2. The alternative route for vehicular traffic with respect to Schedule 1 is: Silverknowes Rd, Silverknowes Rd East, Silverknowes Dr and Silverknowes Rd (service rd south of Silverknowes Cres, southern junction). Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in Schedule 2. The Order shall have effect from 11/08/25 to 07/09/25.

SCHEDULE 1 PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES: on: Silverknowes Rd (service rd south of Silverknowes Cres, southern junction), from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Cres southwards for 20m.

SCHEDULE 2 PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING & UNLOADING: (i) Marine Dr, south side, (1) from the east kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, eastwards for 41m; and (2) from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, westwards for 31.5m; and north side from 61m west of the west kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, eastwards for 106m; (ii) Silverknowes Ct (northern junction), both sides, from the east kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, eastwards for 11m; (iii) Silverknowes Ct (north leg), north side, (1) from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Pl, westwards for 10m; and (2) from the east kerbline of Silverknowes Pl, eastwards for 7.5m; and south side from 9.5m west of the west kerbline of Silverknowes Pl, eastwards for 19.5m; (iv) Silverknowes Ct (southern junction), both sides, from the east kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, eastwards for 13m; (v) Silverknowes Cres (northern junction), both sides, from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, westwards for 8.5m; (vi) Silverknowes Cres (southern junction), both sides, from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, westwards for 10m; (vii) Silverknowes Dr, both sides, from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Rd East, westwards for 7m; (viii) Silverknowes Hill (northern junction), both sides, from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, westwards for 10m; (ix) Silverknowes Hill (southern junction), both sides, from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Rd, westwards for 10m; (x) Silverknowes Parkway, south side, (1) from the east kerbline of Silverknowes Pl, eastwards to the west kerbline of Silverknowes Parkway (access road to 40-66); and (2) from the west kerbline of Silverknowes Pl, westwards for 45m; (xi) Silverknowes Parkway (access road to 40-66), west side, from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Parkway (main carriageway) southwards for 7m; (xii) Silverknowes Pl, west side, from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Parkway, southwards for 14m; east side, from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Parkway, southwards for 11m; and both sides, from the north kerbline of Silverknowes Ct, northwards for 11m; (xiii) Silverknowes Rd, east side (1) from the south kerbline of Marine Dr, southwards and then south-eastwards to the north kerbline of Silverknowes Ct, including the roundabout at the junction of Silverknowes Parkway; (2) from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Ct (northern junction), southwards for 26m; (3) from the north kerbline of Silverknowes Ct (southern junction), northwards for 18m; (4) from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Ct (southern junction), southwards to the point Silverknowes Rd adjoins Silverknowes Rd East; and west side (1) from the south kerbline of Marine Dr, southwards and then south-eastwards to the north kerbline of Silverknowes Cres (northern junction), including the roundabout at the junction of Lauriston Farm Rd; (2) from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Cres (northern junction), southwards to the north kerbline of Silverknowes Hill (northern junction); (3) from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Hill (northern junction), southwards to the north kerbline of Silverknowes Hill (southern junction); (4) from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Hill (southern junction), southwards to the north kerbline of Silverknowes Cres (southern junction); (xiv) Silverknowes Rd (service rd south of Silverknowes Cres, southern junction), east side, from the apex of the traffic island (south of Silverknowes Cres, southern junction), southwards for 8.5m; and west side from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Cres, southwards for 13.5m; (xv) Silverknowes Rd East, east side, from the point Silverknowes Rd adjoins Silverknowes Rd East, southwards to 45m north of the southern building line of 56 Silverknowes Rd East; and west side (1) from the apex of the traffic island adjacent to Silverknowes Rd (service rd south of Silverknowes Cres, southern junction), southwards to the north kerbline of Silverknowes Dr; and (2) from the south kerbline of Silverknowes Dr, southwards for 32m.
