A57 Liverpool Road Lay-By, Higher Irlam and Peel Green - Prohibition of Waiting

What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council has made the City of Salford (A57 Liverpool Road Lay-By, Higher Irlam and Peel Green) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2025 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will give effect to: No Waiting at Any Time on the following lengths of the lay-by adjoining the north-eastbound carriageway of A57 Liverpool Road (at its junction with Barton Moss Road): (i) north west side, from Barton Moss Road for 108m north easterly (ii) south east side, from 3m north east from Barton Moss Road for 74m north easterly (iii) north side, from 23m west from the southern lay-by end to 25m east from the southern lay-by end; and (iv) south side, from the southern lay-by end for 23m westerly. The Order was made on 29 July 2025 and will come into effect on 12 August 2025. Copies of the Order and plan are available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within 6 weeks from 29 July 2025 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
