What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(U6168 OLD ROOSE, BARROW-IN-FURNESS)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U6168 Old Roose, Barrow-In-Furness, from its junction with Holbeck Road, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 15 metres.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and suitable alternative routes for vehicles will be signed and available as follows;

Alternative Route for East Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted section of Old Roose, Yarlside Road, Sedgefield Road, Leece Lane and Holbeck Road.

Alternative Route for West Bound Vehicles: Holbeck Road, Yarlside Road and the unrestricted section of Old Roose.

The Order will come into operation on 18th August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 6 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
