Millfield Road - Temporary Prohibit Vehicles to Facilitate a Root Cut and CCTV Survey to the Sewer With No Excavation Works

What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (MILLFIELD ROAD, WHICKHAM ) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 

Notice is hereby given that on 6 August 2025 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Millfield Road from the junction with Whaggs Lane, extending in an easterly direction to the junction with Cornmoor Road. 

The Order is required to facilitate a root cut and CCTV survey to the sewer (with no excavation works). 

The Order will come into force on 13 August 2025. 

The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 14 August 2025. 

During the works all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
