Eden Dale, Crawcrook - Temporary Footpath Closure to Facilitate Gas Main Replacement Works

What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (EDEN DALE, CRAWCROOK - FOOTPATH CLOSURE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 

Notice is hereby given that on 06 August 2025 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath from the boundary of 37 Eden Dale for a distance of 15 metres in a southerly direction, then 60 metres in a westerly direction. The Order is required to facilitate gas main replacement works. The Order will come into force on 15 August 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 31 August 2025. During the works all pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along the above footpath until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
