Cumberland – Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(U1009 CARWINLEY, U2027 SEAVILLE AND C1012 SCALEBY)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U1009 Carwinley, from its junction with the C1001, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 230m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From 20 August 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours

2. U2027 Seaville, from its junction with the access road leading to the property known as Seaville House, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 100m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2027, U2026 and B5302.
Duration: From 3 September 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours

3. C1012 Scaleby, from a point approx. 300m south west of its junction with the U1074, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 330m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1012, A689, A7, C1009 and A6071.
Duration: From 9 September 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 20 August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.
It is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
