Mill Hill, Longtown - Temporary Road Closure due to Highway Works
What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U1059 Mill Hill, Longtown from its junction with the A6071, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 100m.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the U1059, C1002 and A6071.

The Order will come into operation on 4 August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required from 4 August 2025 to 12 September 2025 and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
