Cumberland, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.12) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached

Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

the Cumberland Council website. The references to

quote are detailed in the schedule.

The Order will come into operation on 4 August 2025 and may

continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.

However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions

will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and

when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U1150 Blackhall Woodway, Dudar - from 4 August 2025 for approx. 8 weeks

(Ref: TTROC/15285)

From a point approx. 50m north west of its junction with the C1014, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 240m. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

2. C1012 Houghton - from 11 August 2025 for approx. 4 days (Ref: TTROC/14950)

From its junction with the A689 to its junction with the U1172. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Houghton Road North, B6264 Brampton Old Road and the A689.

3. U1056 Near Hallbankgate - from 11 August 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/15373)

From its junction with the A689 extending in an easterly direction for its entire length.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

4. B5301 Arkleby - from 18 August 2025 for approx. 11 days (Ref: TTROC/15223)

From a point approx 170m north west of its junction with the U2081, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 620m. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5301,

Arkleby Road, Station Road, Aspatria, A596, B5299 and the A595 Bothel.

5.Etterby Lea Grove, Carlisle - from 1 September 2025 for approx. 25 days (Ref: TTROC/15326)

From its junction with Etterby Lea Crescent, extending in a south

westerly direction for approx 150m.

Alternative Route: via Etterby Lea Crescent.

6. Mill Lane and Mill Road, Glasson - from 10 September

2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/15213)

(i) Mill Road - from its junction with the U2001, extending in a north westerly direction for its entire length; and

(ii) Mill Lane - from its junction with Mill Road, extending in a south westerly direction for its entire length.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
