Suffolk - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Surface Dressing, Line Works, and Bridge Strengthening

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE C600 FARTHING DROVE, BECK ROW, BURNT FEN AND SEDGE FEN

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. C600 Farthing Drove, Beck Row, Burnt Fen

  2. C600 Farthing Drove, Sedge Fen.

This is to facilitate surfacing dressing and line works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Newmans Grove, Highbridge Gravel Drove, Sedge Fen Road, Lakenheath, the B1112, Eriswell Road, Mildenhall Road, Holywell Row, the A1101 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:

  1. 02/08/2025 - 04/08/2025 from 8am - 6pm

  2. 26/08/2025 - 02/09/2025 from 7pm - 5am.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C206 MELLS ROAD, WALPOLE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C206 Mells Road, Walpole from the junction with the B1117 for 200 metres eastbound to facilitate installation of a fire hydrant. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Grange Road, the A144, the B1117 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 13/08/2025 - 15/08/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A140

VARIOUS ROADS, WETHERINGSETT CUM BROCKFORD,

THWAITE, STOKE ASH, BRAISEWORTH, THORNHAM

PARVA, BROME AND OAKLEY AND STUSTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. * the A140 The Street, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford from Cedars Hill, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford to Norwich Road, Thwaite

    * the A140 Norwich Road, Thwaite

    * the A140 Norwich Road, Stoke Ash

  2. * the A140, Ipswich Road, Stoke Ash

    * the A140 Norwich Road, Braiseworth

    * the A140 Ipswich Road, Thornham Parva

  3. * the A140, Norwich Road, Brome and Oakley

    * the A140 Norwich Road, Stuston.

    * the A140 from A14 to A143, Stuston.

This is to facilitate surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A140, the A14, the A134, the A143, the A140 and vice versa.

1. 02/08/2025 - 03/08/2025 from 4am - 9am

2. 16/08/2025 - 17/08/2025 from 4am - 9am

3. 16/08/2025 - 17/08/2025 from 4am - 9am.

There will be a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3822 FARNHAM ROAD, BLAXHALL

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3822 Farnham Road, Blaxhall from the rail crossing for 25 metres northbound and 25 metres southbound to facilitate the strengthening of the ESK 441 bridge over the river Alde. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Farnham Road, Beversham Road, the A12, the A1094, Church Road, Bridge Road, the B1069, Station Road, Farnham Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:

  1. 02/08/2025 - 04/08/2025

  2. 09/08/2025 - 11/08/2025

  3. 16/08/2025 - 18/08/2025

  4. 25/10/2025 - 03/11/2025

  5. 15/11/2025 - 17/11/2025

  6. 22/11/2025 - 24/11/2025

  7. 29/11/2025 - 01/12/2025

  8. 06/12/2025 - 08/12/2025.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3612 BRIDGE ROAD, BROMESWELL

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3612 Bridge Road, Bromeswell from the rail crossing for 25 metres westbound and 25 metres eastbound to facilitate the strengthening of the ESK 429 bridge over river Deben. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bridge Road, the A1152, Orford Road, The Street, Yarmouth Road, The Avenue, Barrack Lane, Lower Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

  1. 02/08/2025 - 04/08/2025

  2. 09/08/2025 - 11/08/2025

  3. 16/08/2025 - 18/08/2025

  4. 25/10/2025 - 03/11/2025

  5. 15/11/2025 - 17/11/2025

  6. 22/11/2025 - 24/11/2025

  7. 29/11/2025 - 01/12/2025

  8. 06/12/2025 - 08/12/2025.

THE C528 CRANLEY ROAD, EYE AND REDLINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

* C528 Cranley Road, Eye from the B1077 to Cranley Road, Redlingfield

* C528 Cranley Road, Redlingfield.

This is to facilitate surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Mill Road, Church Road, Woodlane Road, Park Road, Redlingfield, Park Road, Southolt, Park Road, Church Road the road from the C533 to the C531, The Street, Bucks Green, Bedlingfield, Bucks Green, Rishangles, the B1077 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 13/08/2025 - 14/08/2025 from 10am - 3pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
