What is happening?
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(BILSTON ROAD/JENNER STREET/EAGLE STREET)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding along the following stretches of roads on the dates and times stipulated below:
It is anticipated that the below road closures will be in place between the hours of 00:01 and 05:00 on 14 August 2025 only:
* Bilston Road closed, inbound, between the junction of Steelhouse Lane to opposite the junction of Chillington Street.
The clockwise vehicular diversion route is: Wellington Road, Lichfield Street. Oxford Street, Oxford Street Island, Black Country Route, Birmingham New Road, Thompson Avenue, Birmingham Road, Grove Street, Dudley Road, Ring Road. The anti-clockwise vehicular diversion route is: Ring Road, Birmingham Road, Thompson Avenue, Birmingham New Road, Black Country Route, Oxford Street Island, Oxford Street, Lichfield Street, Wellington Road.
* Jenner Street closed at its junction with Bilston Road.
* Eagle Street closed at its junction with Bilston Road.
The vehicular diversion route is: Steelhouse Lane, Major Street, Dixon Street and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The Order is required to facilitate the inspection and maintenance of overhead cables by Centro.
