Rivelin Valley Footpaths - Prohibition of Pedestrians

Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure
Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215)

Rivelin Valley Footpaths (Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order 2025
(“the Order”)

1. Sheffield City Council makes the Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 and any other enabling powers over an area of the highway described in the schedule to the Order.
2. The Order is needed because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said highway.
3. The Order came into operation on 4 August 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of six months. The duration of the Order can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. The restriction specified will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of notices.
4. While the Order is in operation: it will prohibit any pedestrian from travelling in the length of footpath as described in the schedule to the Order.
5. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.

SHE 450 from A57 stile behind Rivelin Water Treatment Works to the junction with Rivelin Valley Trail at Fox Hagg, SHE 470 from the west side of stepping stone river crossing to the east side of stepping stone river crossing, SHE 61 from Wyming Brook Car Park at top of steps leading to stepping stone river crossing to Wyming Brook north of stepping stone river crossing, SHE 525 from near Havelock Dam to Hollins Lane entrance, SHE 583 from the Rivelin Valley Trail north east of Ford Crossing to the Rivelin Valley Trail at River Rivelin Ford Crossing, SHE 526a from the Rivelin Valley Trail north of Walkley Bank Tilt Car Park to Rivelin Valley Road (opposite Walkley Bank Road), SHE 526b - on the Rivelin Valley Trail north of Walkley Bank Tilt Car Park to Rivelin Valley Trail.
