Fornham St Martin Footpath 3 (part)) Public Path Diversion Order 2025
On 31 July 2025 West Suffolk Council confirmed the above order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the entire width of that part of Fornham St Martin Public Footpath 3 within the grounds of All Saints Hotel commencing at Ordnance Survey grid reference (OSGR) TL84436754 and proceeding in a north westerly direction for approximately 100 metres to a junction with Fornham St Genevieve Footpath 2 at the parish boundary at OSGR TL84386763 to a new line commencing at OSGR TL84436754 and proceeding in a north north westerly direction for approximately 16 metres then joining a surfaced path and continuing in a north north westerly direction for approximately 3.5 metres to OSGR TL84426756 then along a surfaced path first in a westerly direction for approximately 46 metres to OSGR TL84376756 then in a north westerly and then northerly direction for approximately 55 metres to OSGR TL84366761 then in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 24 metres to the end of the surfaced path then in a northerly direction for approximately 4 metres to a junction with Fornham St Genevieve Footpath 2 at the parish boundary at OSGR TL84386763 as shown on the order map.
A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Bury St Edmunds Library, Sergeants Walk, St Andrews Street North, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1TZ between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8.30am and 7.30pm Tuesday and Friday, 8.30am and 5pm Saturday and 10am and 4pm Sunday. The order comes into force on 10 October 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the act has not been complied with in relation to the order he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the act, within six weeks from 8 August 2025, make an application to the High Court.
