What is happening?

WANDSWORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL

Wye Street

Proposed Parking Changes, Pedestrian and Cycle Zone and Restricted Zone

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make the following Orders under sections 6, 32, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2004:-

    • "The Wandsworth (Prescribed Routes) (No. ) Traffic Order 20"

    • "The Wandsworth (Housing Estate Roads and Car Parks) (Amendment No. ) Order 20"

    • "The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No. ) Order 20"

    • "The Wandsworth (Putney) (Parking Places) (No. ) Order 20"

  2. The general effect of the Orders is detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

  3. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Order are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at The Customer Centre, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU. The documents will remain available until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order.

  4. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Director of Environment and Community Services at the address below within 21 days of the date of this Notice.

SCHEDULE

Private Access Road South of Broad MansionsImplementation of a “Pedestrians and Cycles Only” Zone on the access road from the point at which it meets the A3205 York Road for approximately 60m in a south-westerly direction until the point at which it meets the Necklace Road. The exception to this restriction will be all emergency service vehicles, vehicles that need to enter the area to service the convenience store on the ground floor of Broad Mansions, council-contracted and commercial refuse collection vehicles that need to service Broad Mansions, and Panetonne that need to service Broad Mansions.
One-way for all vehicular traffic, including pedal cycles, in a north-westerly direction. Installation of “Left Turn Only” sign at the north-western end of the private access road immediately southeast of where it meets the A3205 York Road.
Private Car Park North of the private Access Road Serving Broad MansionsImplementation of a new Residents Parking Zone (RPZ), plus one perpendicular bay for multiple service vehicles and 6 bays for blue badge holders
Necklace RoadImplementation of a Restricted Zone (No Waiting or Loading at Any Time) along this road from the point at which it meets the private access road to Broad Mansions for 10m in an easterly direction until the point at which it meets Wye Street.
Wye StreetThe deletion of approximately 20m x 2m of resident CPZ visitor parking space on the western side of Wye Street from the point 10m northwest of the Necklace Road junction.
 
Insertion of new CPZ signs south of the new southern-most point of the resident parking bay on the western side of Wye Street.
The deletion of approximately
28m x 2m of existing CPZ bay space on the eastern side of the carriageway on Wye Street from the point in line with double yellow lines on the pavement immediately north of the existing “Keep Clear” road markings for a distance of 28m in a northerly direction.
The installation of double yellow lines on the eastern side of the carriageway on Wye Street to protect access to the Necklace Road immediately east of the existing “Keep Clear” road markings for a distance of 28m.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE - PRINCES WAY SW19

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make an order to restrict vehicular movement in Princes Way to facilitate Telecoms utility works.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, no vehicle shall enter, proceed or wait along Princes Way, from the junction with Augustus Road to number 64A. There will be no waiting 09:30 - 15:00 (Wednesday - Friday).

  3. Whilst the order remains in force the alternative route for traffic affected by the closure will be appropriately signed. Further information may be obtained from the Council’s Network Management section - telephone number (020) 8871 6904.

  4. The order will come into operation on 13 August 2025 and will remain in place until the works are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the works are expected to be complete by 15 August 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF

TRAFFIC - QUEENSTOWN ROAD SW8

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make an order to restrict vehicular movement in Queenstown Road to facilitate Thames Water utility works.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, the following will apply:

    • A banned right turn will be introduced from

    Battersea Road onto Queenstown Road for the duration of the works

    • A banned right turn will be introduced from Queenstown

    Road onto Battersea Road for the duration of the works (24 hour marshaling to maintain access and egress).

    • A contraflow system will be introduced on Queenstown Road, the southbound lane and cycle lane restriction will be lifted for the duration of the works, from the junction with Robertson Street to the junction with Wandsworth Road.

    • There will be no waiting at any time.

  3. Whilst the order remains in force the alternative route for traffic affected by the closure will be appropriately signed. Further information may be obtained from the Council’s Network Management section - telephone number (020) 8871 6904.

  4. The order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and will remain in place until the works are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the works are expected to be complete by 24 August 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE – SOUTHCROFT ROAD SW16

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make an order to restrict vehicular movement in Southcroft Road to facilitate Thames Water utility works.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, no vehicle shall enter, proceed or wait along Southcroft Road from outside numbers 342 to 380 both sides. There will be no waiting at any time.

  3. Whilst the order remains in force the alternative route for traffic affected by the closure will be appropriately signed. Further information may be obtained from the Council’s Network Management section - telephone number (020) 8871 6904.

  4. The order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and will remain in place until the works are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the works are expected to be complete by 14 August 2025.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE – DUTCH YARD SW18

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make an order to restrict vehicular movement in Dutch Yard to facilitate Building maintenance works to Dutch Yard House.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, no vehicle shall enter, proceed or wait along Dutch Yard from the junction with Wandsworth High Street to the end where it joins Hardwick’s Way. There will be no waiting at any time.

  3. Whilst the order remains in force the alternative route for traffic affected by the closure will be appropriately signed. Further information may be obtained from the Council’s Network Management section - telephone number (020) 8871 6904.

  4. The order will come into operation on 7 August 2025 and will remain in place until the works are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the works are expected to be complete by 18 September 2025.

PROPOSED MINOR PARKING AMENDMENTS

ALLFARTHING LANE, SW18

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Traffic Management Act 2004:-

    • “The Wandsworth (Wandsworth) (Parking Places) (No. )

    Order 202

    • “The Wandsworth (Parking) (Disabled Persons) (No. ) Order 20

    • “The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No. ) Order 202”.

  2. The general effect of the Orders would be to remove 7 metres of parking place adjacent to No. 114 Allfarthing Lane (on Vermont Road) and replace with a single yellow line, and to introduce a disabled persons’ parking bay outside No. 114 Allfarthing Lane.

  3. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays in The Customer Centre, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London, SW18 2PU. The documents will remain available until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders.
