What is happening?

Temporary Orders

Cornwall Council
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council is under the above Order dated 18th April 2025 continuing to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 14 between grid references SW98125 59370 and SW98391 59526 and Footpath 16 between grid references SW98238 59211 and SW98238 59425, Roche.

The Order which commenced on the 19th April 2025 and is currently in force for up to six months will now continue until the 31st August 2025. The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included.

The Council is satisfied that this further restriction is necessary owing to engineering difficulties and the Order is needed because works for the construction of St Austell Link Road are being executed on or near the public right of way.

Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

Pedestrian access to residents and businesses will be maintained.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council is under the above Order dated 18th April 2025 continuing to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 17 in the Parish of Roche between grid references SW 98705 58660 and SW 99051 59005. The Order which commenced on the 19th April 2025 and is currently in force for up to six months will now continue until the 31st August 2025.

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. The Council is satisfied that this further restriction is necessary owing to engineering difficulties and the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the public of way to allow the construction of the new link road scheme.

Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and  anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

Pedestrian and Vehicular access to residents and businesses will be maintained.

Temporary Speed Restriction Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council is under the above Order dated 17th April 2025 continuing to impose a temporary speed restriction of 30 MPH over an area of highway being Harmony Road, Roche between grid references SW98010 60119 and SW98250 60109 for approximately 243 metres.

The Council is satisfied that this further restriction if necessary owing to engineering difficulties and the Order is needed because works for the St Austell Link Road are being executed on or near the road.

The Order which commenced on the 18th April 2025 and is currently in force for up to eighteen months will now continue until the 31st August 2025.

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 30th July 2025 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 63 in the Parish of Newquay between grid references SW 82855 60769 and SW 82851 60755.

The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed for safety due to an increase in linespeed. The Order will come into operation on 31st July 2025 and the works are expected to be completed by the 10th November 2025.

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 10th July 2025 for a period of up to 21 days.

Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

The County of Cornwall (Leathern Bottle Hill, Michaelstow, Bodmin) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 4th August 2025 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Bodmin.

This prohibition is necessary for works to repair manhole cover and it is expected that the closure will be from 22nd August 2025, for one day. The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekdays only.

Road affected - Leathern Bottle Hill, Michaelstow, Bodmin between property known as Churchtown Farmhouse and grid reference SX 08029 78782.

The County of Cornwall (Road From Whitewell Road To Allen Valley Road, St Teath, Bodmin) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 4th August 2025 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in Bodmin.

This prohibition is necessary for new electric connection works and it is expected that the closure will be from 18th August 2025 to 29th August 2025.

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included.

Road affected - Road From Whitewell Road To Allen Valley Road, St Teath, Bodmin between properties known as Burg St and The Mowhay.
