ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14
AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
RUSKIN ROAD & TAMWORTH ROAD, CROYDON
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecoms works to rectify a defective carriage chamber on behalf of Vodafone, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on Ruskin Road and Tamworth Road, Croydon.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Ruskin Road will be closed at its junction with Tamworth Road.
b) Tamworth Road will be closed opposite Nos. 26 to 28 Tamworth Road.
3. During the closures, vehicular traffic will be diverted via London Road, Sumner Road, Mitcham Road, Roman Way, and Reeves Corner.
4. The Order will come into operation on 19 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed overnight from 8pm on 19 August to 5am on 20 August 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
6. The restriction will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
