ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Towpath Closure

Rear of Ham Street Car Park,

(Reference 25/134)

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate environmental agency works at Teddington Lock they intend to make a Temporary Notice, the effect of which is to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic and pedestrians on a length of the towpath along the River Thames at the rear of Ham Street Car Park.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person shall enter or proceed in the riverside towpath from a point at the north-west corner of Ham Street car park westwards for a distance of 30 metres.

  3. The Notice will come into effect on 08 August 2025. The restrictions will be in force for up to 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

  4. An alternative route for pedestrians will be provided around the compound.

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used, or any person in connection with the execution of the said works;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used, or any person needing access for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Road Closure

High Street, Whitton.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water works, they have made a Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in High Street, Whitton.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in High Street, Whitton, from the junction with Constance Road to outside 102 High Street Whitton.

  3. Whilst High Street, Whitton is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Percy Road, Hospital Bridge Road, Nelson Road and vice versa.

  4. The Order will come into effect on 04 August 2025. The works are anticipated to be in progress from 04 August to 08 August 2025. The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Road Closure

Parkshot, Richmond.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate footway works, they intend to make a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Parkshot, Richmond.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in North Lane, from the junction with Twickenham Road to the junction with Clarence Street.

  3. Whilst Parkshot, Richmond is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Little Green, Portland Terrace, The Green, King Street, A307, A305, A316, Clarence Street.

  4. The order will come into effect on 11 August 2025. These night works are anticipated to be in progress from 22.00 on 11 August to 05.00 on 12 August 2025. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

Temporary Footpath Closure

Barnes Bridge, Pedestrian Footpath, Barnes.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate Bridge Maintenance works they intend to make a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a footpath closure over Barnes Bridge.

  2. Whilst the works take place no person may proceed in or across Barnes Bridge Pedestrian Footpath from Barnes Bridge Station to the north Embankment of the River Thames.

  3. The order will come into effect on 07 August 2025. These night works are expected to be in progress from 22:00 to 05:00 only on intermittent nights between August and 15 September 2025; the order will remain in force for a period of 6 months.

  4. An alternative route for persons affected by the closure will be available via The Terrace, Mortlake High Street, Lower Richmond Road, Clifford Avenue, Dan Mason Drive and The Promenade.

  5. The prohibitions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Teddington Lock Footbridge, Teddington

The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate environmental agency works at Teddington Lock they intend to make a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary closures of Teddington Suspension Footbridge and Lock Cut Footbridge, Teddington.

  2. Whilst the works take Place the closure will be in place from the base of Teddington Lock Footbridge to the end of Lock Access Road.

  3. The order will come into effect on 08 August 2025. The works are anticipated to be in progress for a maximum of 6 months. The order will remain in force for a period of 6 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

  4. An alternative route for pedestrians affected by the closure will be available via Kingston Bridge or Richmond Bridge (A305).

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames propose to make the above Order under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

  2. The principal objective of the Disabled Persons’ Parking Places Order is to introduce a parking place for disabled persons outside No. 11 Victor Road, Teddington

  3. Copies of further particulars giving details of the scheme:-

    (a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 25/138 at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at www.richmond.gov.uk

  4. Persons wishing to object to or support the proposals or any part thereof should write to the Head of Engineering, Traffic and Parking Policy, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham TW1 3BZ within 21 days of the date by giving the grounds of their objection.
