ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
TRINITY ROAD, SW19
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate crane works and sewer works in Trinity Road, SW19, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.
During the works no person would:–
(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Trinity Road, from its junction with The Broadway to its junction with South Park Road; or
(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait in the street or length of street specified in paragraph 2(a) above;
(c) enter or proceed on the western footway of Trinity Road adjacent to No. 2 Trinity Road.
Any designated parking place situated in the length of Trinity Road specified in paragraph 2(a) above would be suspended for the duration of the works.
The restrictions and suspensions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Nothing in the Order would apply to:–
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to the properties adjacent the road or lengths of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above, insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works;
(e) any person requiring access to properties adjacent to the footway specified in paragraph 2(c) above.
Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via:–
(i) Queen’s Road, Haydons Road, Merton High Street, Priory Road, Merton Way, Morden Road, Merton Road and The Broadway; or
(ii) The Broadway, Merton Road, Merton High Street, Haydons Road, and Queen’s Road.
Pedestrians affected by a footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
The Order would come into operation on Monday 11th August 2025 and would remain in force for 3 months. It is anticipated that the works in Trinity Road would take place between Monday 11th August 2025 and Friday 15th August 2025.
No. 2 Trinity Road would take place on Saturday 16th August 2025, with Saturday 23rd August 2025 as a back-up date.

(VARIOUS ROADS) (NO. 2)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate a programme of carriageway resurfacing and general maintenance works to be undertaken in the roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice, they have made an Order, the effect of which, during the works, will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, proceeding or waiting, including in any parking places, in those roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.
Any designated parking place situated in any of the roads or lengths of roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice will be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of roads.
Alternative routes for diverted traffic will be indicated by advance warning and diversion signs on the roads affected when the works are in progress.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
Nothing in the Order will apply to:–
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of roads insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
The Order will come into force on Monday 4th August 2025 and the anticipated works dates are specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order will remain in operation for a maximum period of 12 months and its provisions will be re-introduced should further works be required.

LONDON ROAD, MITCHAM; between its junction with Elmwood Road and its southernmost junction with Lower Green West.
From Tuesday 9th September 2025 for 4 consecutive nights, between the hours of 8pm and 5am the following day.
LOWER GREEN WEST, MITCHAM; for its entire length.

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that because of major gas works in Streatham Road and to improve vehicular access for local residents, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to continue in force the provisions of a temporary notice issued under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 temporarily suspending the one-way closures in Links Road and Seely Road and permitting the passage of motor vehicles.
The suspensions shall apply only during such times the traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 prohibiting motor vehicles are not visible.
The Order will come into operation on Saturday 2nd August 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Sunday 5th October 2025, at which time the point closures will be re-instated. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months, should further works and suspensions be required.
