PROPOSED INTRODUCTION AND REMOVAL OF

DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES

(THE MERTON (FREE PARKING PLACES)

(DISABLED PERSONS) (NO. ) ORDER 202)

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton propose to make the above-mentioned Order under the powers conferred by sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

  2. The general effect of the “Free Parking Places” Order would be to:-

    (a) designate a parking place, described in Schedule 1 to this Notice, in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;

    (b) provide that the parking places would operate at all times, unless otherwise stated;

    (c) specify, in respect of the parking places, that vehicles displaying in the relevant position, a disabled persons badge (commonly referred to as “the Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 2000 may be left therein;

    (d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc;

    (e) remove the disabled persons parking place at the location specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

  3. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including a plan which shows the exact lengths of road to which the Order relates can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

  4. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX or, alternatively email trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/DPPT73, no later than 22 August 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(RIDGWAY PLACE, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

(AMENDMENT NO. 2) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to improve the parking facility for residents in Ridgway Place during construction and development works at No. 22 Ridgway Place, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to amend the London Borough of Merton (Ridgway Place, SW19) (Temporary Restriction of Traffic) Order 2025 made on 29th May 2025 and lift the suspension of one permit holder parking place outside No. 20 Ridgway Place.

  2. The Order would come into operation on Friday 8th August 2025 and would remain in force until 8th November 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(LONDON ROAD(A24), MORDEN)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The London Borough of Merton Council, with the agreement of Transport for London, hereby give notice that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, they have made an Order, the effect of which, from Friday 8th August 2025 until Sunday 10th August 2025 inclusive, will be to temporarily prohibit any person from causing or permitting any vehicle to:-

    (a) enter or proceed in:-

    (i) London Road(A24), the north-eastbound nearside lane, from a point 130 metres north of its junction with Central Road north-eastward to its junction with Crown Road;

    (ii) the access road to the Morden Leisure Centre and Merton Register Office;

    (b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the length of London Road(A24) specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;

    (c) turn right or left from London Road into the access road to the Morden Leisure Centre and Merton Register Office.

  2. The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  3. Any vehicle in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  4. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-

    (a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

  5. The restrictions in sub-paragraphs 1(a) and (b) will not apply to licensed taxis at the dedicated pick up and drop off zone for taxis generally located opposite Chaucer Avenue or to local buses using the bus stop in the vicinity of No. 140 London Road.

  6. The restriction in sub-paragraphs 1(a) and (c) will not apply to event vehicles or vehicles used by Council staff attending the Morden Leisure Centre or the Merton Register Office.

  7. Any vehicle may be removed under the provisions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  8. The Order will come into force on Friday 8th August 2025 and remain in force for 3 days only.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(CURRIE HILL CLOSE, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate electrical utility works in Currie Hill Close, SW19, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic in the said road.

  2. The works take place no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:-

    (a) enter or proceed in Currie Hill Close, from a point 20 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Arthur Road, south-eastward to a point 3 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 6 and 7 Currie Hill Close;

    (b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;

  3. The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  4. An alternative route for diverted traffic is not applicable as Currie Hill Close is a cul-de-sac and a diversion route is not applicable.

  5. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  6. Nothing in the Order will apply:-

    (a) to any person carrying out the works or any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

    (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

    (d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the length of road specified in paragraph 2 above, insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the works.

  7. The Order will come into operation on Monday 11th August 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within 5 days.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(HARTFIELD ROAD, THE BROADWAY, WIMBLEDON BRIDGE,

WIMBLEDON HILL ROAD, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate a crane operation at the Wimbledon Quarter shopping centre, SW19; they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the said road.

  2. During the works, no person will:-

    (a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in:-

    (i) The Broadway, between its junction with Wimbledon Bridge and the common boundary of Nos. 23 and 25 The Broadway;

    (ii) Hartfield Road, the right turn lane into The Broadway, from the south-western kerb-line of The Broadway, southward for a distance of 33 metres;

    (b) cause or permit any vehicle to proceed other than in a north-westbound direction in:-

    ? Wimbledon Hill Road, between its junction with Alexandra Road and its junction with Wimbledon Bridge;

    ? Wimbledon Bridge, between its junction with Wimbledon Hill Road and its junction with The Broadway;

    (c) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above;

    (d) enter or proceed in the footway on the north-east side of The Broadway, from its junction with Wimbledon Bridge to its junction with Queens Road.

  3. Any designated parking place or taxi rank situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.

  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  5. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed via the footway opposite.

  6. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via Alexandra Road, Gap Road, Ashcombe Road and Queens Road. Traffic from Alexandra Road will first be diverted via St George’s Road, Worple Road and Wimbledon Hill Road before using the same diversion route.

  7. Nothing in the Order will apply:-

    (a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

    (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

    (d) so as to prevent pedestrian access to the properties adjacent to the said works.

  8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  9. The Order will come into operation on Sunday 10th August 2025 and the works are anticipated to be carried out from 10pm on 10th August 2025 until 5am on 11th August 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months should further works be required.
