What is happening?

ROCHDALE BOROUGH COUNCIL

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE (TO INCLUDE A FOOTPATH RUNNING FROM RUDMAN STREET TO FALINGE ROAD VIA WELLBROW TERRACE, ROCHDALE (DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 31st July 2025, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by: -

The footpath starts and ends on Rudman Street at Grid Ref: 388987 414723 at Point A, the route continues in a south easterly direction for approximately 58 metres along Rudman Street before proceeding in a north easterly direction for 55 metres to Grid Ref: 389087 414709 Point B. Turning into a south south westerly direction for approximately 303 metres to Falinge Road passing Wellbrow Terrace, Grid Ref: 388939 414449 at Point C. 

The footpath will be 1.5 metres wide, be a total length of 416 metres, it will mainly be a natural surface until reaching Wellbrow terrace where a hard surface is provided. The route is to be named RocDFp47.

A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at the Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, from 9.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. on Monday to Friday and viewed on the Council’s website www.rochdale.gov.uk. 

Copies of the Order and map may be bought there at the price of £5.00.

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Assistant Director of Corporate, Legal, Governance & Workforce, Rochdale Borough Council, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU (quoting reference SG/ECO001.1040) not later than 17 September 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made. 

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Rochdale Borough Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural

Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
