A5 Trunk Road - Temporary Restriction of Traffic For Street Lighting Works

THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (HINCKLEY, LEICESTERSHIRE
 (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A5 Trunk Road, at Hinckley, in the County of Leicestershire, to enable street lighting works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to –

(1) impose a 40 miles per hour speed restriction on –

(a) the northbound carriageway of the A5 from its roundabout junction with Rugby Road, Hinckley Road and the M69 Junction 1 slip roads (M69 Junction 1 Roundabout), to a point 115 metres northwest of that junction; and

(b) the southbound carriageway of the A5 from a point 115 metres northwest of its junction with M69 Junction 1 roundabout, to that junction; and (2) impose a 10 miles per hour speed restriction on the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A5 between a point 115 metres northwest of its junction with the M69 Junction 1 Roundabout, and a point 30 metres northwest of the centreline of its junction with Wolvey Road, at Hinckley when signs indicating “convoy working” are being displayed.

The work is expected to be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Friday 29 August 2025 and continue for approximately one week. The Order will come into force on 22 August 2025.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restrictions.
