What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (PARKSIDE DRIVE, HOUGHTON REGIS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Parkside Drive, Houghton Regis between Fensome Drive and Maple Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 13 August 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Parkside Drive, Windsor Drive, Sandringham Drive, A5505, Parkside Drive and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HUMPHRYS ROAD, DUNSTABLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Humphrys Road, Dunstable opposite Unit 9.

This temporary closure is required to enable new service connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 15 August 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Humphrys Road, Lovett Way and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (FRIARS WALK, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the entire length of Friars Walk, Dunstable.

This temporary closure is required to enable pre surface dressing patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 12 to 29 August 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm and Saturdays from 8am and 1pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A5183, B489 and Icknield Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SUNDON ROAD, HARLINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sundon Road, Harlington outside number 87.

This temporary closure is required to enable sluice valve replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 15 August 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Barton Road, Harlington Road, Sharpenhoe Road, Sundon Road, Streatley Road, Harlington Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (ST MICHAELS AVENUE, WATLING PLACE AND ROMAN GARDENS, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the entire lengths of St Michaels Avenue, Watling Place and Roman Gardens, Houghton Regis. This temporary closure is required to enable pre patching and micro asphalt surfacing work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 22 August 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There are no alternative routes for these closures.

The Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(MILLFIELD LANE, CADDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Millfield Lane, Caddington outside of The Jays.

This temporary closure is required to enable pole replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 27 August 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Pipers Lane, Mancroft Road, Dunstable Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 27 August 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (GROVE ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Grove Road, Houghton Regis opposite numbers 18 to 74.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 28 August 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Grove Road, Hilborough Crescent and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 26 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (WESTFIELD ROAD, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Westfield Road, Dunstable outside Watling House car park.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 to 31 August 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Westfield Road, Maidenbower Avenue, Brewers Hill Road, A505 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 August 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (CADDINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. A8) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024

On the 1 August 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the following length of Public Footpath No. A8.

The length of Footpath No. A8, Caddington to be stopped up extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0578 2084 at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. A8, Caddington in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 410 metres over its junction with Mallard Crescent and running parallel with Chaul End Road to OS GR TL 0561 2120 then continues in a westerly direction over Chaul End Road for approximately 13 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. A8, Caddington at OS GR TL 0559 2120.

The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Footpath No. A8, Caddington to be created extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0578 2084 in a north-easterly direction for approximately 41 metres to OS GR TL 0581 2086 then continues along a track in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 147 metres to its junction with Mallard Crescent at OS GR TL 0573 2096 then continues over Mallard Crescent in a north-westerly direction to OS GR TL 0573 2097 then continues along a track in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 182 metres to OS GR TL 0567 2113 then continues in a generally westerly direction for approximately 59 metres to its junction with Chaul End Road at OS GR TL 0561 2114.

The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The Order comes into force on 8 August 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 6 August 2025 make an application to the High Court.
