What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(GROSVENOR STREET, HAZEL GROVE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Grosvenor Street, Hazel Grove between the junctions of London Road and Yeoman Close, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for works to install a new water connection. It is estimated these works will last 8 days. A diversion will be provided via Peter Street, Mill Street, London Road and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles. This Order will come into operation on 30 July 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
