What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(WELLINGTON ROAD NORTH, HEATON CHAPEL) (SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Suspension of the Cycle Lane at Wellington Road North, Heaton Chapel, east cycle lane closure from Norfolk Avenue to Howard Avenue, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for works to install a water meter and 3 new water connections. It is estimated these works will last 1 day. This Order will come into operation on 17 August 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
