What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(TURNER STREET, STOCKPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Turner Street, Stockport, for the full length, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for works to replace a gas pipe access cover. It is estimated these works will last 2 weeks. No diversion will be provided. This Order will come into operation on the 22 September 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
