Luton - Multiple Traffic Notices

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) (No.27) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 4th August 2025 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Order will come into operation on 12th August 2025 for a period of 18 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
Hereford Road The Whole Length. Diversion route via Pastures Way, Drayton Road, Tomlinson Avenue, Leagrave High Street. Alternatively, via Leagrave High Street, Pastures Way. Anticipated date and times of closure 12th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Clydesdale Road The Whole Length. Diversion route via Pastures Way, Drayton Road, Tomlinson Avenue, Leagrave High Street. Alternatively, via Leagrave High Street, Pastures Way. Anticipated date and times of closure 12th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Sundon Park Road from its junction with Sundon Arch to its junction with Marsh Road Roundabout. Diversion route via Sundon Park Road, Hill Rise, Spinney Road, Wauluds Bank Drive, Bramingham Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 13th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Spinney Road from its junction with Spinney Road to its junction with Eighth Avenue. Diversion route via Spinney Road, Henge Way, Spinney Road, Hill Rise, Eighth Avenue. Anticipated date and times of closure 14th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Rossfold Road The Whole Length. Diversion route via Cranbrook Drive, Spinney Road. Alternatively, via Spinney Road, Henge Way, Spinney Road, Grampian Way, Copse Way. Anticipated date and times of closure 14th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Eaton Green Road from its junction with Wigmore Lane to its junction with Lalleford Road. Diversion route via Lalleford Road, Crawley Green Road, Wigmore Lane. Anticipated date and times of closure 15th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Wingate Road from its junction with Selbourne Road to its junction with Arundel Road. Diversion route via Selbourne Road, Arundel Road. Alternatively, via Arundel Road, Maryport Road, Maidenhall Road, Selbourne Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 16th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Carisbrooke Road The Whole Length. Diversion route via Chaul End Lane, Hatters Way Roundabout, Chaul End Lane, Dunstable Road, Leicester Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 16th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Kestrel Way from its junction with Bunting Road to its junction with Pastures Way. Diversion route via Kestrel Way, Ravenhill Way, Pastures Way. Anticipated date and times of closure 17th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Pastures Way from its junction with Ravenhill Way to its junction with Leagrave High Street. Diversion route via Leagrave High Street, Tomlinson Avenue, Drayton Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 17th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Silver Street The Whole Length. No diversion route available. Anticipated date and times of closure 19th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Cheapside The Whole Length. No diversion route available. Anticipated date and times of closure 19th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Guildford Street from its junction with Cheapside to its junction with Church Street. No diversion route available. Anticipated date and times of closure 19th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Marston Gardens The Whole Length. Diversion route via Kingsdown Avenue, Stratton Gardens, Manton Drive, Priory Gardens. Alternatively, via Priory Gardens, Old Bedford Road, Kingsdown Avenue. Anticipated date and times of closure 20th August 2025, 8pm to 5am.

The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period as described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway surface treatment works to be carried out. For the period of the closure, the Order will also provide for “No Waiting and No Loading” restrictions to apply within the roads and lengths of roads closed for said works. Any vehicle deemed to be in contravention of the restrictions will be issued with a penalty charge notice and removed. This will be in force when traffic signs, barriers or cones are displayed. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic will be marked by signs.
