What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
THE SQUARE ACCESS ROAD TO SHOPS,
STAMFORD BRIDGE

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed along The Square Access Road
to the shops, Stamford Bridge from the junction of
The Square for approximately 20 metres North
commencing 18 August 2025 at 21.00 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
laying of duct in the carriageway and footway to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public.
The closure will be between 21.00 hours and 06.00
hours. Highway to be clear all other times.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed by
22 August 2025 at 06.00 hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via The Square Access Road to shops, The Square and
vice versa. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for
vehicular access to properties directly affected by the
closure and for emergency services.
The Order will commence 18 August 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
