What is happening?
Essex County Council
Road to its junction with Townsend Road a distance of approximately 240m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 21 days, or where stated on a valid permit (ZP011N0023962-R3 – Gas Transportation Company). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Gas Transportation Company.
An alternative route is available via B1023, B1022, A1124, A12, B1024, B1023 or B1023, B1022, B1026, A1124 A12, B1024, B1023
The Order came into effect on 31st July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Old Ipswich Road, Ardleigh Southbound Only) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Ipswich Road, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with A12 for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction (Southbound traffic only). The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th August 2025 for 10 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (FN40657102397 – National Highways). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by National Highways.
An alternative route is available via A12, A1341, A12, Northbound slip to Blackbrook Hill, Southbound slip from Blackbrook Hill, A12 or Old Ipswich Road, Turnpike Close, A12, Northbound Slip to Blackbrook Hill, Southbound slip from Blackbrook Hill and A12.
The Order came into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Station Road, Thorrington) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Thorrington in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Great Bentley Road a distance of approximately 40m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2025 for 1 night (00:15–07:30), or where stated on a valid permit (KL735C0C-59-41-170825 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while track alignment works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available via B1029, A133, B1027, B1029 and vice versa.

(Straight Road, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Straight Road, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 140m south west of the junction with East Side for a distance of approximately 170m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388767 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while excavation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Straight Road, Dedham Road, Greyhound Hill, Moor Road, Langham Lane, Langham Road and vice versa.

(Upland Road, West Mersea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Upland Road, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Uplands Crescent for a distance of approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th August 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (YN10074737_ERI_CTM_RW – MBNL). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while maintenance and repair works are undertaken by MBNL.
An alternative route is available via Upland Road, Kingsland Road, Barfield Road, High Street North, Colchester Road, Mill Road, Queens Corner and vice versa.
