What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BOGMOOR ROAD, BARLEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bogmoor Road, Barley from its junction with The Penns north eastwards to its junction with Smiths End Lane, a distance of approximately 1090m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Bogmoor Road, B1368 (Cambridge Road/London Road), Church End, B1039 (Chishill Road/Barley Road), May Street and Bogmoor Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A505 ROYSTON BYPASS, ROYSTON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A505 Royston Bypass, Royston from its junction with the A10 Melbourn Road roundabout north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the A1198 Old North Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 1240m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A10 (Melbourn Road/Priory Lane/Barkway Street/London Road/Ermine Street/Ermine Way/Baldock Road/Bassett Road) and A505 (Baldock Road), A602 (Broadwater Way/Hooks Cross/Watton at Stone Bypass/Wadesmill Road/Towne Road/Stone Bypass/Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way), A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/Steet/Hitchin Street/Graveley Road), A602 Hitchin Road, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 (Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross/Watton at Stone Bypass/Wadesmill Road/Towne Bypass/Westmill Road), and A10/All (unnamed road/Wadesmill Bypass/unnamed road/Ermine Street/London Road/Market Hill/Priory Lane/Melbourn Road).

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road during the works.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN OWLES LANE, BUNTINGFORD AND BUNTINGFORD BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC NO.040) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Owles Lane (“the Road”) and Buntingford Byway Open to All Traffic (“the Byway Open to All Traffic”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of road and byway when signs are in place.

1. The length of Owles Lane is affected from its junction with London Road north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Buntingford Byway Open to All Traffic No.040, a distance of approximately 655m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, the sections of the Road and the Byway will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. The length of Buntingford Byway Open to All Traffic No.040 from its junction with Owles Lane north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Buntingford Public Bridleway No.022, a distance of approximately 434m

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, the sections of the Road and the Byway will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF POLICE ROW, THERFIELD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Police Row, Therfield from its junction with St James Court south eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Police Row, The Causeway, Therfield Road, Baldock Road, Baldock Street, Melbourn Street, A10 (Priory Lane/Barkway Street/London Street), Reed End, Haywood Lane and Hay Green

or via Hay Green, Haywood Lane, Reed End, A10 (London Road/Market Hill/Priory Lane), Melbourn Street, Baldock Street, Baldock Road, Therfield Road, The Causeway and Police Row.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
