Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road/Bridleway Closures due to Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRIDLEWAY ST STEPHEN 65

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horseriders, and cyclists from using that length of Bridleway St Stephen 65, heading south toward Smug Oak Lane, for an approximate distance of 30m.

Alternative route: via Smug Oak Lane, Radlett Road and Moor Mill Lane.

The purpose of the Order is to enable utilities works to take place. The section of Bridleway will be closed on or after 04 August 2025 for up to 2 days, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A4147 CATHERINE STREET AND ETNA ROAD, ST ALBANS)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of A4147 Catherine Street, St Albans from its junction with Bernard Street south eastwards for a distance of approximately 52m.

An alternative route will be via A4147 Folly Lane, A5183 (Folly Lane/ Verulam Road/High Street), A1081 (Chequer Street/St Peters Street) and A4147 Catherine Street.

2. that length of Etna Road, St Albans from its junction with A4147 Catherine Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN WILKINS GREEN LANE, SMALLFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Wilkins Green Lane, Smallford from its junction with Station Road north eastwards to its junction with Springfield Road, a distance of approximately 183m ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CAMP ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Camp Road, St Albans from its junction with Dellfield north westwards to its junction with Vanda Crescent, a distance of approximately 181m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Camp Road, Ashley Road A1057 Hatfield Road and Camp Road

or via Camp Road, B691 Stanhope Road/Victoria Street), B6426 Alma Road, A1081 London Road, Drakes Drive and Camp Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THAMESDALE AND BARNET ROAD, LONDON COLNEY)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

1. that length of Thamesdale, London Colney from its junction with Barnet Road north eastwards to its junction with Eskdale, a distance of approximately 46m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Barnet Road, London Colney from its junction with the 'Colney Fields Shopping Park' roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 137m.

An alternative route will be via Barnet Road, A1081 Barnet Bypass, High Street and Barnet Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN DROP LANE, BRICKET WOOD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Drop Lane, Bricket Wood from its junction with Station Road south eastwards, eastwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Smug Oak Lane, a distance of approximately 2368m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Station Road and Drop Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 4 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF RODNEY AVENUE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rodney Avenue, St Albans from its southernmost junction with Foxcroft north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Foxcroft or via Foxcroft, St Vincent Drive, Cell Barnes Lane and Aldwick.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
