EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL (PUBLIC FOOTPATH HASTINGS 130 (PART)) CYCLE TRACK ORDER 202*
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that East Sussex County Council proposes to make the above Cycle Track Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Section 3(1) of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers. The effect of the order will be:
1) The footpath described in the schedule to this order be designated a cycle track over which the public would have a right of way on pedal cycles (other than pedal cycles which are motor vehicles) and a right of way on foot.
Schedule
The section of public footpath Hastings 130 to be designated a cycle track begins at Whitworth Road TQ 7963 1307 (Point A) and runs in an east- southeasterly direction for 98.35 metres to TQ 7973 1306 at A21 (Sedlescombe Road North) (Point B).
As the Highway Authority, the Council is satisfied that the introduction of the above proposed order will encourage the convenient and safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists.
A copy of the proposed Order, plans showing the length of public footpath and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the order along with a copy of the Order being made can be viewed during opening hours at Hastings Library, Brassey Institute, 13 Claremont, Hastings, TN34 1HE and County Hall Reception, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes, BN7 1UE on Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm or online at https://consultation.eastsussex.gov.uk/economy-transport-environment/queensway-gateway-roadhastings-cycle-track-order
Any person wishing to make an objection or other representation concerning this proposal must do so in writing, together with the grounds on which it is made, to East Sussex County Council, Communities Economy & Transport, Parking, B Floor, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE or by email to TROs@eastsussex.gov.uk quoting reference ESCC/HASQGR/CTO to arrive no later than 28th August 2025.
