(Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.53) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1st July 2022 has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The effect of the Order:
To introduce No Waiting at Any Time restrictions at the junction of Sherwood Drive and London Road, Clacton. On the East and West sides of London Road from numbers 176 to 196 and on the North and South sides of Sherwood Drive for approximately 10 metres from its junction with London Road.
To Introduce No Stopping at Any Time restrictions on Colchester Road, Ardleigh near to its junction with Crown Lane South. On the North side approximately 25 metres either side of its junction with Crown Lane South. On its south side approximately 90 metres in both directions from its junction with Copelands entrance.
To introduce No Waiting at Any Time restrictions in Crown Lane South, Ardleigh. For approx. 30 metres (to encompass the bend in the road near to number 1 Crown Lane South).
To partially revoke the No Waiting 9am to 6pm restriction of the East side of Station Road, Clacton outside of Coleman Court and introduce a Bus Stop in its place.
To partially revoke the No Waiting Mon–Sat 8am–6pm on Main Road, Dovercourt on its South side near to no. 503. Introducing a Bus Stop outside of 503 Main Road.
To Introduce No Stopping Mon to Fri 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4 pm on the South side of The Avenue, Lawford (between numbers 2 to 10).
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing tile numbers TM235 310, TM175 150, TM170 165, TM090 307 revision 0 to revision 1. Introduce tiles TM170 167 and TM030 277.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 1st September 2025.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Coppins Road, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Coppins Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 25m south east of its junction with Lodge Close for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT00110274895 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water leak repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Coppins Road, Old Road, St Osyth Road, Coppins Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Tendring) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.9) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above length of road, for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 24th July 2025; exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
