What is happening?

(The Lindens, Gosfield) (20mph Zone) Order 202*.
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 84(1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Effect of the Order:
To Implement: A 20mph Zone in Gosfield, in the District of Braintree.

(Dyers End, Stambourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dyers End, Stambourne in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 215m south west of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30060308717 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Church Road, Mill Road, Chapel End Way, Cornish Hall End Road, Stambourne Road, Cornish Hall End, Little London Hill and vice versa (with access only into Howe Street, Upper Howe Street, Finchingfield Road – Howe Street To Dyer’s End – Zc161, Robinhood End, Finchingfield Road and Dyers End).
The Order will come into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sudbury Road, Gestingthorpe in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Potkiln Chase for a distance of approximately 350m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th August 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2384828 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Sudbury Road, Church Street, Audley End, Moat Street, Hedingham Road, Church Road, Broad Road, Hedingham Road, Bulmer Tye, Church Road, Bulmer Street, Lower Houses, Sudbury Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 7th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Green, Little Yeldham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Green, Little Yeldham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 60m north east of its junction with School Road for a distance of approximately 245m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th August 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30013586719 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while transformer replacement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Belchamp Road, Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Road, North Road, Leather Lane, Little Yeldham Road, School Road and vice versa (with access only into Church Green and Mashey Road).
The Order came into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Street, Colne Engaine)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Street, Colne Engaine in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Mill Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30010857181 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Mill Lane, Colne Park Road, A1124, and vice versa (with access only into Station Road and Church Street).
The Order came into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Parsonage Street, Halstead Urban)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Parsonage Street, Halstead Urban in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Factory Lane West for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310773337 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Factory Lane West, Kings Road, Trinity Street, Mount Hill, White Horse Avenue, Tidings Hill, Kings Hill, and vice versa (with access only on Parsonage Street between Kings Road and Factory Lane West).
The Order came into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Star Lane, Greenstead Green)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Star Lane, Greenstead Green in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Birchwood Road for a distance of approximately 260m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC454-WG6D0W4G – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while frame and cover renewal works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Birchwood Road, Stonylands Road, Sudbury Road, Star Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 24th July 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.12) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:

To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.

A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

“The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 24th July 2025. Exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
