A3100 London Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic For Footway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
with (D5424) Aarons Hill. Alternative Route: Eashing Lane, (A3100) Portsmouth Road, and (A283) Guildford Road,or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole installation works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 31 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
A3100 London Road, Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A3100 London Road, Guildford from its junction with Boxgrove Road to its junction with the access road (entrance) into Guildford High School. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway resurfacing works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 14 August 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Alternative Route 1 (main diversion) – A3100 London Road, A246 York Road, A322 Woodbridge Road, A25 Ladymead and A25 Parkway;
Alternative Route 2 (Cross Lanes diversion) – D4007 Cross Lanes, A246 Epsom Road, A246 Waterden Road and then follow the main diversion route.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 16A Public Footpath No. 364 (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 31 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath No. 364 (Cranleigh) which extends for about 960 metres in a north-easterly direction from its junction with Barhatch Road (Grid ref: 506865 139 686) to its junction with Public Bridleway 361 (Cranleigh).
The Order is necessary to enable a special event to take place, namely the Cranleigh Farm & Food Festival. The closure will be in operation for a period of 2 days, from 10:00am on Saturday 2 August, until 07:00pm on Sunday, 03 August 2025. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the western end of the closure will be:
Head east along Bookhurst Road for about 625 metres, then turn left and head in a generally northerly direction, following Public Bridleway 361 (Cranleigh) for about 765 metres, until you reach Public Footpath 364.
The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
“The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 364 (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” was made by the County Council under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Public Footpath 52 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2025
On 22 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Footpath 52 from Rosemary Lane at Grid Reference 501830 168674 in a westerly direction to Footpath 53 at Grid Reference 501657 168692.
The Order is necessary in order to allow for the continued development of 24 residential dwellings for which planning permission has been granted (RU22/0682) The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from Friday 7 August 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. No access to properties will be affected by the temporary closure.
The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of Footpath 52 will be: proceed in a southerly direction for 92m then in a north westerly direction for 263m through the Frank Muir Playing Field.
The alternative route for traffic from the western end of Footpath 52 will be the reverse of the route described above.
