Hawton Road, Boundary Road And Windsor Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(HAWTON ROAD, BOUNDARY ROAD AND WINDSOR ROAD, NEWARK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (N25-253)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Newark in the District of Newark and Sherwood.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Hawton Road, Newark - From its junction with Boundary Road for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction.
b. Windsor Road, Newark - From its junction with Boundary Road for a distance of 50 metres in a southeasterly direction

2. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in an easterly direction only in following length of road: a. Boundary Road, Newark -between its junction with Victoria Street to its junction with Hawton Road

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 07:30 hours on Monday 18th August 2025
Until 17:30 hours on Sunday 31st August 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a. Southern Link Road - Bowbridge Lane - Bowbridge Road Boundary Road Vice versa
b. Rupert Crescent - Boundary road - Vice Versa
c. Victoria Street - Portland Street - Albert Street

The Order will come into force on Monday 18th August 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
