Deansgate & Barton Square, Deansgate Ward - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Footway Resurfacing

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC144157081: The City of Manchester (Deansgate & Barton Square, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Deansgate Blackfriars St to St. Mary’s St & on Barton Sq from St. Ann St to St Ann Sq. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Blackfriars Street, Chapel Street, New Bailey Street, Bridge Street West, Bridge Street, St Mary’s Parsonage, King Street West, Southgate, St Mary’s Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Cherry Picker and crew to carry out Advanced Laser Cleaning. . It is expected that the works will be in progress from 17th August 2025 to 19th August 2025 and 31st August 2025 to 1st September 2025 between the times of 20:00 and 06:00 & 20:00 and 08:00. The order shall come into operation on 17th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 5th August 2025.

ORDER NO. MCC144686848: The City of Manchester (Sandiway Drive, Didsbury West Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Sandiway Drive. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate footway resurfacing. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 18th August 2025 to 22nd August & 15th December - 17th December 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 18th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
