Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

 

B2068 Stone Street, Stelling Minnis (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a speed limit on through traffic on part of B2068 Stone Street, Stelling Minnis, on or after 12th August 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. The speed limit will be imposed from Yew Tree Cottage in a Southerly direction for approximately 150m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Ashford Road, Snave (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation cutting to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ashford Road, Snave, on or after 28th August 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2070 From Ashford Road To District Boundary, Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Broadmead Road, Folkestone, CT20 2QW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow road improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Broadmead Road, Folkestone, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended between the junctions of A259 Cheriton Road and Wiltie Gardens, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A2034 Cheriton Road, A259 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cherry Garden Avenue, A259 Churchill Avenue, A259 Canterbury Road, A259 Black Bull Road, A259 Radnor Park Road, Bournemouth Road, Broadmead Road, Guildhall Street North, Coolinge Road and Brockman Road.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Brockman Road, Coolinge Road, Guildhall Street North, Broadmead Road, Bournemouth Road, A259 Radnor Park Road, A259 Pavilion Road, A259 Black Bull Road, A259 Canterbury Road, A259 Churchill Avenue, A2034 Cherry Garden Avenue, A2034 Cheriton Road, A259 Cheriton Road and A2034 Cheriton Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Canterbury Road, Wingmore, CT4 6LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow carriageway works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Wingmore, on or after 26th August 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of White Horse Lane and From Bunkers Hill To Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, High Street, New Road, Canterbury Road, Longage Hill, The Minnis, High Minnis, Mockbeggar, B2068 Stone Street, B2068 Street End, B2068 Faussett Hill, Bridge Road, Station Road, High Street, Bridge Hill, Bonny Bush Hill, Black Robin Lane, Valley Road, Derringstone Hill, Elham Valley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cuckoo Lane, Postling, CT21 4EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cuckoo Lane, Postling, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Pent Villa to outside Sunnycroft, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Staple Lane, Sandling Road, Cuckoo Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Newington Road, Peene, CT18 8FG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Newington Road, Peene, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Elham Valley Way footpath to outside Little Den, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Newington Road, Hill Lane, Lane From Parsonage Farmhouse To Junction With Hill Lane And Danton Lane, Lane From Junction Teddars Leas Road To Junction Upper Arpinge, Teddars Leas Road, Canterbury Road, Coombe Farm, Beachborough, A20 Ashford Road, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Road Of Remembrance, Folkestone, CT20 2AQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Road Of Remembrance, Folkestone, on or after 26th August 2025 until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of West Terrace and Marine Terrace, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Road Of Remembrance, West Terrace, Bouverie Place, Bouverie Square, A2033 Middelburg Square, Foresters Way, A2033 Grace Hill, A2033 New Street, A2033 Bradstone Road, A2033 Dover Road, A260 Southern Way, A260 The Tram Road, A260 Harbour Street, A260 Harbour Approach Road, A260 Marine Parade and A260 Marine Terrace.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A260 Lower Sandgate Road, A260 Harbour Street, A2033 Harbour Street, A2033 Tontine Street, A2033 Dover Road, A2033 Grace Hill, A2033 Shellons Street, A2033 Middelburg Square, Cheriton Place, Sandgate Road, West Terrace and Road Of Remembrance.

The alternative route for any pedestrian through traffic is via Lower Sandgate Road, A260 Harbour Street, A2033 Harbour Street, A2033 Tontine Street, A2033 Dover Road, Rendezvous Street, Sandgate Road, West Terrace, The Leas and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Minnis, Rhodes Minnis, CT4 6XX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Minnis, Rhodes Minnis, on or after 11th August 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Green Lane for approximately 100m in a Northerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Minnis, High Minnis, Mockbeggar, B2068 Stone Street, B2068 Stanford Bypass, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Sandling Road, Sandling Road, Canterbury Road, Broad Street, Station Road, Canterbury Road, Longage Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
