Westmorland & Furness, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.9) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to;

1. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of Parkside Road, Kendal (both sides), from its junction with Lound Road (A65), extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 180 metres. From: 4th August 2025 for Approx. duration 3 weeks (Ref: TTROW/15130)

2. Prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of the road;

(i) Birthwaite Road, Windermere, from a point approx. 300 metres north east of its junction with Rayrigg Road (A592), extending in an easterly direction for approx. 60 metres. Alternative Route for East Bound: Via the unrestricted sections of Birthwaite Road, Rayrigg Road (A592), Ambleside Road, Elleray Road, Crescent Road, Ellerthwaite Square and New Road. Alternative Route for West Bound: Via the unrestricted sections of Birthwaite Road, New Road, Ellerthwaite Square, Main Road, Elleray Road, Ambleside Road and Rayrigg Road (A592). From: 4th August 2025 for Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/14943)

(ii) U5301, Meal Bank, from its junction with Appleby Road (A685), extending in a north easterly then north westerly direction for approx. 145 metres. Alternative Route: Via the unrestricted section of the U5301, Mealbank Road and Appleby Road (A685). From: 26th August 2025 for Approx. duration 3 weeks (Ref: TTROW/15267)

3. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule. Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 4th August 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for those dates as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. Carr Bank Road, Storth - From 11th August 2025 for Approx. duration 35 days (Ref: TTROW/ 14931) From its junction with Keasdale Road, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 240 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Carr Bank Road, Black Dyke

Road and Sandside Road (B5282).

2. Enyeat Road, Endmoor Road - From 15th August 2025 for Approx. duration 1 day (Ref: TTROW/15171) From a point approx. 80 metres south of its junction with Dove Nest Lane, extending in a southerly then south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 60 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Enyeat Road (U5361), C5077, A65 and the C5093.

3. C5024, Haverthwaite - From 18th August 2025 for Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: TTROW/14234) From its junction with the U5200, extending in a northerly direction for a distance of approx. 200 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C5024, C5023 and the A590.

4. U5227, High Newton - From 19th August 2025 for Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/15112) From a point approx. 470 metres north east of its junction with U5226, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 120 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U5227, Height Road (C5029) and the C5109.
