What is happening?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257

CITY OF MANCHESTER
(FOOTPATHS ON LAND BOUNDED BY WHITE MOSS ROAD / WOODMERE DRIVE / DAM HEAD DRIVE)
(PUBLIC PATH STOPPING UP) ORDER 2025

The above Order was made on 11 July 2025. The effect of the Order will be to stop up the following public paths -

1. Wanley Walk footpath over its full width that commences at the back of footway of White Moss Road at a point 30 metres north east of its junction with Leconfield Drive and continues in a generally south easterly direction for a distance of 164 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled ‘1’ on the Order map).

2. A footpath over its full width that runs off a footpath located at a point 22 metres north east of the north eastern corner of Woodmere Drive and continues in a north easterly direction to Wanley Walk, a distance of 19 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled ‘2’ on the Order map).

3. A footpath over its full width that commences from the back of footway at the northern end of Dam Head Drive and runs in a north easterly direction to Wanley Walk, a distance of 19 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled as ‘3’ on the Order map).

4. A footpath over its full width that commences from the back of footway at the northern end of Dam Head Drive and runs in a north easterly direction to Wanley Walk, a distance of 19 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled as ‘4’ on the Order map).

5. A footpath over its full width that commences from the back of footway at the north eastern end of Dam Head Drive and runs in a south easterly direction for a distance of 24 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled as ‘5’ on the Order map).

6. A footpath over its full width that commences at the back of footway on the north eastern end of Dam Head Drive and runs parallel to the back of footway of Dam Head Drive in a south westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled ‘6’ on the Order map).

7. A footpath over its full width that commences at a point 8 metres off the back of the footway of Dam Head Drive opposite Swinford Walk and runs in a south easterly direction for a distance of 27 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled as ‘7’ on the Order map).

8. A footpath over its full width that commences at a point 5 metres off the back of footway of Dam Head Drive, opposite Swinford Walk and runs in a south easterly direction for a distance of 13 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled as ‘8’ on the Order map).

9. A footpath over its full width that commences on Footpath 10 (below) at a point opposite Denstone Walk and runs parallel to the back of the footway of Dam Head Drive for a distance of 15 metres in a north easterly direction to Footpath 8 (above) (shown by a bold black line and labelled as ‘9’ on the Order map).

10. A footpath over its full width that commences at the back of footway of Dam Head Drive at a point opposite Denstone Walk and runs in a south easterly direction for a distance of 7 metres (shown by a bold black line and labelled as ‘10’ on the Order map).

A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday inclusive.

Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be requested via the email or postal addresses below. Any representation regarding or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to Fiona Ledden, City Solicitor PO BOX 532, Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA or email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk not later than 1 September 2025 quoting reference L/PSH/HIG003/84070.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council of the City of Manchester may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
