Various Locations, Gedling - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS LOCATIONS, GEDLING)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (G25-109)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Gedling in the Borough of Gedling
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Digby Avenue, Gedling - From its junction with College Road to its junction with Lambley Avenue
b. Unity Crescent, Gedling - From its junction with Digby Avenue in a south westerly direction for 20 metres.
c. Holyoake Road, Gedling - From its junction with Digby Avenue in a south westerly direction for 20 metres
d. Shelford Road, Gedling - From its junction with Digby Avenue in a north easterly direction for 20 metres
e. Lambley Avenue, Gedling - From its junction with Digby Avenue in a south westerly direction for 20 metres
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00 hours until 18:00 hours only.
Digby Avenue, Gedling - From Monday 11th August until Friday 29th August 2025
Unity Crescent, Gedling - From Monday 11th August until Friday 15th August 2025.
Holyoake Road, Gedling - From Saturday 16th August until Sunday 17th August 2025
Shelford Road, Gedling - From Saturday 16th August until Sunday 17th August 2025
Lambley Avenue, Gedling - From Saturday 16th August until Friday 29th August 2025
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Digby Avenue, Gedling - Hazel Grove - Westdale Lane West - Holyoake Road and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 11th August 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works;
