What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL 

Various Roads in Long Ditton and Thames Ditton (20 mph Speed Limit Zone) Order 2025 

On 31 July 2025 Surrey County Council made the above named Order, under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to impose a 20 mph speed limit zone on the lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, which will come into force on 3 August 2025. The speed limits imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. 

A copy of the plan showing the lengths of roads to which the Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, may be viewed on-line at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-andtransport/ policies-plans-consultations/roads-and-transportconsultations (follow the link to Long Ditton and Thames Ditton 20 mph Speed Limit). These documents and a copy of the Order may also be viewed at (1) Dittons Library, Mercer Close, Thames Ditton, Surrey KT7 OBS, during normal opening hours; and at (2) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by appointment. 

Schedule: (1) Sugden Road (D6809) Thames Ditton, from a point 110 metres east of its junction with Scott Farm Close, at the existing kerb build-out immediately adjacent to Nos. 44 and 65, to its junction with Ewell Road and Fleece Road; 

(2) Ewell Road (C162) Long Ditton from a point 18 metres south of its junction with C161 Effingham Road, to its junction with Sugden Road and Fleece Road; 

(3) Orchard Close (D6813) Long Ditton the entire length; 

(4) Fleece Road (C162) Long Ditton from its junction with Ewell Road and Sugden Road, to a point 60 metres south-west of its junction with Windmill Lane, including parallel road outside Nos. 74-96; 

(5) Ditton Hill Road (C162) Long Ditton from a point 65 metres north of its junction with Church Road and St Marys Road, at the existing kerb build-out immediately adjacent to Nos. 59 and 82a, to its junction with Ewell Road and Fleece Road; 

(6) Kings Road (D6804) Long Ditton the entire length; 

(7) Highfield Close (D6804) Long Ditton the entire length.
