Derby Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving To Install New Lighting Columns
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DERBY ROAD, KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD AND MANSFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (M25-074)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Kirkby in Ashfield and Mansfield in the District of Mansfield.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Derby Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Cauldwell Road, Sutton in Ashfield to its junction with Derby Road, Mansfield.
b. Derby Road, Mansfield - From its junction with Derby Road, Kirkby in Ashfield to its junction with Nottingham Road, Mansfield.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. Derby Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Cauldwell Road, Sutton in Ashfield to its junction with Derby Road, Mansfield.
b. Derby Road, Mansfield - From its junction with Derby Road, Kirkby in Ashfield to its junction with Nottingham Road, Mansfield
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00 hours until 05:00 hours only.
From Monday 4th August until Friday 5th September 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Cauldwell Road - Nottingham Road and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 4th August 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to install new lighting columns;
