Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield Town Centre - On Street Parking Places Order

What is happening?

KIRKLEES COUNCIL
(ON STREET PARKING PLACES) (NO.1) ORDER 2025 FITZWILLIAM STREET – HUDDERSFIELD TOWN CENTRE

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects Fittzwilliam Street in Huddersfield Town Centre in the Kirklees district, will be as follows:

To introduce a new length of pay and display parking on the southern side of Fitzwilliam Street from a point 11 metres north east of John William Street for 26 metres in a north easterly direction. The parking place will be restricted between the hours of 8am and 6pm on Mondays to Saturdays and between 12 noon and 6pm on Sundays to 90 minutes maximum stay with no return within 1 hour.

The proposed parking charges will be £1.65 for up to 45 minutes and £3.40 for up to 90 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays and 85p for up to 90 minutes on Sundays.

NB. These proposals should be read in conjunction with the recently advertised proposals associated for changes to existing the restrictions on Fitzwilliam Street under (Traffic Regulation) (Amendment No 13) Order 2025.
