Main Road, Plumtree - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For Localised Widening of The Junction

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MAIN ROAD, PLUMTREE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (R25-165)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Plumtree in the Borough of Rushcliffe

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road

a. Main Road, Plumtree - From its junction with Melton Road, Tollerton in a southerly direction for 100 metres.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from making the following manoeuvre in the following length of road at Plumtree in the Borough of Rushcliffe:

a. Melton Road, Tollerton (at all times) - Right turn into Main Road, Plumtree

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 08:00 hours Monday 11th August 2025
Until 15:30 hours Friday 5th September 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a. Church Hill - Cotgrave Road and vice versa

The Order will come into force on 11th August 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out localised widening of the junction;
