What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Fairview, Elm Lane to Park Hill, Holes Lane to Top Lane and Fairview to Park Hill

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Fairview - from the junction with Park Hill, for its entirety; Elm Lane to Park Hill - from 511 metres west of the junction with Church Lane, westwards for a distance of 637 metres; Holes Lane to Top Lane - from the junction with Tents Hill to the junction with Holes Lane and Fairview to Park Hill - from the junction with Top Lane to the junction with Fairview. A total distance of 2034 metres. This Order will enable Voneus Ltd to carry out carriageway and footway rectification works on behalf of HG Comms Ltd. 

The Order becomes effective on 14 August 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 18 August 2025 and last until 22 August 2025 between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00 for a total of 5 days.

Statement of Reasons for making the Order 
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
