North Yorkshire, Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14

THE A19 TRUNK ROAD (OSMOTHERLEY INTERCHANGE TO SOUTH KILVINGTON INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A19 Trunk Road, in the District of Hambleton, to enable bridge painting works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start at 8pm on Tuesday 26 August 2025 for 4 weeks, or until completed.

The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:

(i) close the A19 southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Osmotherley Interchange to the entry slip road at South Kilvington Interchange, a distance of 1100 metres;

(ii) close the A19 southbound entry slip road at Osmotherley Interchange;

(iii) close the A19 southbound exit slip road at South Kilvington Interchange;

(iv) close the gaps in the central reservation adjacent to the A19 trunk road from Osmotherley Interchange to Knayton Interchange; and

(v) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A19 southbound carriageway at Thimbleby Village Junction, Over Silton Village Junction, Nether Silton Village Junction and Knayton Village Junction.

It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to close the laybys adjacent to the A19 southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Osmotherley Interchange to the entry slip road at Nether Silton Interchange.

During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available.

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and vehicles which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and properties which are accessible from, and only from, the A19. The Order comes into force on 25 August 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.

THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 51 TO JUNCTION 50) (NO.2) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable loop cutting works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on Tuesday 26 August 2025 for 1 night or until completed.

The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to close the A1(M):

(i) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 51 (Leeming Bar) to the entry slip road at Junction 50 (Baldersby), a distance of 17,260 meters; and

(ii) southbound entry slip road at junction 50 (Baldersby).

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance). The Order comes into force on 25 August 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
