Lightbowne Road, Harpurhey Ward - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC144656190: The City of Manchester (Lightbowne Road, Harpurhey Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Lightbowne Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Northampton Road, The Gateway, Oldham Road, Dean Lane, St Mary’s Road, Joyce Street, Kenyon Lane. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Resurfacing Works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 5th August 2025 to 12th August 2025 between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00. The order shall come into operation on 5th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC144653966: The City of Manchester (Culcheth Lane, Miles Platting & Newton Heath Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Culcheth Lane. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Assheton Road, Berry Brow, Graver Lane, Hulmes Road, Droylsden Road, All Saints Street, Culcheth Lane. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Gas Mains Replacement. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 4th August 2025 to 25th August 2025. The order shall come into operation on 4th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
