Wiltshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Maintenance Works

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Shoddesden Lane (Part), Ludgershall; from its junction with A342 for a distance of approximately 1275m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out civils works of laying duct. Alternative route via Tidworth Road – Somme Road – A3026 – A342 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 until 04 September 2025. B) C61 (Part), Donhead St Andrew, Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with C313 to its junction with C300 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overruns and associated works. Alternative route via C300 – C299 – C313 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 for 5 days. C) UC 872901 (Part), East Knoyle; from its junction with Holloway Lane for a distance of approximately 920m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway surfacing and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 26 August 2025 and the closure will start at 07:00 and will be required 24 hours a day for 3 days. D) C64 (Part), Wylye; from its junction with Fore Street to its junction with Dyer Lane to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via Dyer Lane – Teapot Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. E) C62 (Part), Donhead St Mary and Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with C311 to its junction with UC 892502 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overruns and associated works. Alternative route via C62 (unaffected length) – C310 – C311 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 for 5 days. F) Underwood Drive (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with Stockport Avenue for a distance of approximately 60m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to replace twin 600x700 man hole covers for lighter alternative in tarmac highway. Alternative route via Underwood Drive (unaffected length) – Boscombe Road – Porton Road – Main Road – Salisbury Road – Stockport Avenue and vice versa. G) C293 (Part), Allington; from its junction with A338 for a distance of approximately 380m in a north easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out to complete a full relining of the sewers in order to reduce infiltration and sewerage overflows. Alternative route via C293 (unaffected length) – Amesbury Road – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 August 2025 and the closure will be required until 12 September 2025. H) Lower Road (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Cecil Terrace for a distance of approximately 170m in a westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out communication equipment upgrade and associated works. Alternative route via Lower Road (unaffected length) – A3094 – A36 – Fisherton Street – South Western Road – Mill Road – Churchfields Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. For further information please contact Circet on 07971 142611. Orders A) to H) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
