What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000144624158: The City of Manchester (Rochdale Road, Higher Blackley Ward)(Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane)(Kerr Street, Higher Blackley Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic Order 2025) under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to suspend the operation of the bus lane on Rochdale Road from 1169 Rochdale Road to 1223 Rochdale Road thereby permitting the use of that part of the carriageway by all motor vehicles. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Kerr Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Hill Lane, Old Market Street, Middleton Old Road, Rochdale Road. The City Council is satisfied that this suspension/prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a sewer connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 4th August 2025 to 15th August 2025 The order shall come into operation on 4th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
